But, it can be a tough transition when you’ve been working in that space for years and years.
The new generation of graphic designers are starting to get a handle on their technical chops and are doing much better.
In this installment of The TechCrunch Gadget Show, we’ve picked five of the best designers in the world for 2017.
The list is composed of more than 100 designers, from the world’s top 10 graphic designers to some lesser known names, to highlight the best of the year.

Futuristic – The Future Of Graphic Design is a digital design agency specializing in visual design, illustration, animation, and digital advertising.
It is one of the largest graphic design companies in the country and has been running its offices in New York City for over 20 years.
In 2018, Futuristic was named one of Forbes’ top 10 Design Companies of the Future by Design News.
In 2017, Futurist released the award-winning The Future Art of Graphic Designs, a graphic designer’s guidebook on visual and creative direction for artists, writers, and designers in today’s fast-paced digital age.
Futuristic also co-authored the acclaimed Graphic Design Guidebook, which is published annually by the Association of Graphic Editors.
Fujitsu – The new designer for Fujitsu is the legendary Japanese graphic designer Yoshihide Sugita.
The Japanese design giant has been producing high-quality, high-value designs for decades, and this year is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its legendary design house.
Sugita is best known for his signature style and designs for the Japanese market.
His work has appeared in publications such as The New York Times, Time, The Wall Street Journal, Fortune, The Associated Press, The Boston Globe, and many others.
Suga is the author of more then 30 graphic design books, including Design: The Art of Design, Design Elements: The Ultimate Guide to Design, the best-selling graphic design guidebook for artists and designers, and the award winning Graphic Design Book of the Year: The New Design Manifesto.
He was named a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2013 and was also named a recipient of the Society of Illustrators International Award in 2014.
Sugiya’s work has been showcased in the U.S. and the U,K., Japan, and more than 20 countries worldwide.
He is currently a contributing editor to The Atlantic, the Washington Post, Forbes, The New Yorker, and others.
He’s also been named one time to the prestigious Society of Graphic Directors.
He’s worked with clients including the New York Public Library, Google, Microsoft, Sony, the Smithsonian, and several major U.K. galleries.
He also cofounded the Japanese magazine Illustrator and published the book “The Art of Japanese Design.”
Fujishio – The first-ever award-nominated design and illustration company, Fujishio is an independent design and graphic design company headquartered in Japan.
The company is based in Tokyo and has offices in Tokyo, Osaka, and Osaka, Kyushu, Osaka Prefecture.
Fukushino is an award-winning graphic design studio with offices in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Seoul, and London.
Its portfolio includes high-end high-resolution graphic designs and designs inspired by classic Japanese art.
In addition, the studio produces high-definition artworks that have been exhibited internationally, such as “A Perfect Day to Swim.”
Fukishino was founded in 2003.
Its first graphic design work, “Shuju” (The Way of the Tiger), was awarded the Japan Art Prize in 2006.
In 2011, the firm released “The Lion of the Forest,” a collaboration with Japanese artist Takuya Shimada, for which the award won the Japan Design Award in 2013.
In 2015, Fujishi won the International Design Awards for Graphic Design at the 2014 International Design Week in Venice.

Fukuoka – Fujisho is a visual arts and design studio based in Fukuoka, Japan, with offices located in Tokyo.
